New owner - Questions
Hey guys. I was on 7thgen for years modding civics. Jumped over to Lexus for 2 luxury cars. Now got my first g35 - 2008.
When I got the car the subwoofer was dead. I soldered the speaker back to life. Ask for details . IMO the stock setup offers just enough bass without needing subs.
I wired a OEM reverse camera into the AUX and bypassed the parking break. Only drawback is I have to press AUX when reversing. No big deal.
Anyways, nice car. Clean inside and out. Well laid out. So much fun to drive. Share your tips for a new owner here. Thanks

Then I got a Amazon Fire 7 for $39 during Black Friday.
Play with it for a month. Return it if you get bored.
Remove the shift ****.
Remove the shifter trim.
Remove the cupholder trim.
Remove the ipod connector in the armrest.
In the armrest, plug in 2 amp phone charger.
Connected a MicroUSB cable. (90 degree cables look cleaner).
Run it through the old ipod connector hole, through the center shifter assembly up through the ashtray.
To secure the tablet / phone:
Lift up the ashtray lid.
Cut sticky velcro to fit the ashtray lip.
Attach velcro to the back of the tablet.
It's hidden, makes for a clean install, and I can remove it when I park in the hood.
Google and install this app (PM for any app requests): Autosleeper.apk
Autosleeper is beautiful.
It detects charge and turns the system on (wake from sleep).
When I turn off the engine, it detects no charge and puts the system to sleep.
Super OEM.
Next you want to install a launcher.
Basically a nice looking skin, with an Infiniti logo that takes over your home screen.
Big buttons are actually shortcuts.
Super easy to read and operate while driving.
Google and install this app (PM for any app requests): com-mod-car-launcher-agama-mod-v2-1-4-premium.2140.apk
This app will show 6 main options. For mine I chose : MP3 , VIDEO , NAV , SPOTIFY , POWER , and APPS.
For MP3's Google and install this app (PM for any app requests): BlackPlayer-EX-v20.45-b319-www.ReXdl.com.apk
For Music Videos Google and install this app (PM for any app requests): MX-Player-Pro-v1.10.23-www.ReXdl.com.apk
For NAV simply install Google Maps
You do not need internet for NAV to work. Download offline maps in google maps.
If you want your system to be online install a wifi hotspot app on your phone. One button press.
Watch the launcher automatically connect to your phone's WiFi. Instantly your system is online.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
