In my mind, more performance in exhaust are in this order:
1. X - style pipe
2. mandrel bent pipe
3. increased diameter style.

I just bought a new Y-pipe as well, Im on a budget, and wanted to stay away from steel&aluminized type ones (limited life time). Budgetwise, (1) or (3) was out of the question, so I got the
Megan Racing Pipe Megan Racing Pipe
shipped from Amazon.

Something to keep in mind is always that as you go a little more than slightly modded on exhaust side, a custom system will cost the same or less compared to buying pre made specific systems. Catback systems for over $1000 is a bit of a waste. There are many very competent exhaust builders in north america!

ABSOLUTE TRUTH! Always shop around at a few local muffler shops before ordering pre-fabricated equipment. For example, here locally we have a shop that does amazing stainless exhaust systems for classics mostly but he'll work on anything. Your choice of muffler and it usually ends up being about $1000 total and he always makes sure to keep factory bolted fittings in the same location so you can take out mid-pipes later for other repair/maintenance work.
