Exhaust ideas?

Hello I'm new to this forum
I have a 2008 g35x and I'm looking for a catback exhaust
But I don't need anything crazy loud, just something a bit better than this stock one (and hopefully affordable)
Any recommendations?

Hi Steven, "Welcome to the G35 Driver forums!" We have one request for new members especially since they have a gazillion questions about what they're driving. Read all the "Sticky's" at the top of the coupe/sedan page where you'll find 16 years of information! You could also use our SEARCH function! Maybe replacing your OE muffler with one of Magnaflow's quality units would get the job done (better sound) without spending those big $$ on a cat back system?
Steven, good luck and enjoy the ride...Gary

Thanks for your advice!
I wish I didn't have to do a catback but my midpipe is rusting and i figured I'd just do the catback because of this
I'm still accepting advice but I'll look at the stickers in the meantime
Thanks again

Steven, consider cost plus the excessive noise (you weren't in favor of) aftermarket systems create. A new mid pipe and muffler plus having it installed by a quality muffler shop would be less than 30% of what any aftermarket cat back exhaust would cost! Check it out at www.magnaflow.com!

I'd agree, magnaflow muffler plus custom midpipe.

However if you search here or google there are tons of other cat back options depending on taste/budget

Check for minror exhaust leaks while you are at it. The trick of ChrisFix..youtube... Utilizing a dry/wet vacuum to blow a little into exhaust is brilliant in combibation with soapy water.

I use a cheap Halloween fog machine, takes a little longer because it doesn't generate much pressure but it works great. Tape off one exit on the muffler, stick the hose inside the other and tape it shut, turn it on, wait about a minute, look for smoke coming out.

Good tips, I just purchased a high mileage 2007 Honda CR-V as a seconday/backup vehicle as I'm racking up a lot of miles on my G. Only issue with it seems to be leaky exhaust. Feels like it has zero power after the G but at least it sips 87 octane. 👌😂

I would definitely recommend the Ark catback exhaust, go on YouTube and listen to different sound clips of different exhausts. It’s not too loud.
