Engine behaviour
(This is for a 2008 G35X Sedan)
I'm having a few problems.. I have some ideas what might be wrong but would love some seasoned help from some seasoned vets.
I'm having a few problems.. I have some ideas what might be wrong but would love some seasoned help from some seasoned vets.
- When driving in 1st gear, at around 1.2k RPM, the car will lurch forward and the RPM will 'hiccup'.
- The engine will sometimes not idle smoothly. I suspect a vacuum leak [since that what it usually is] but what are some other culprits?
- Occasionally, it seems like the exhaust note just disappears in certain powerbands, usually the middle.

Check for vacuum leaks, pull/inspect/replace spark plugs, OBD2 scan for hidden codes (suspecting a cam sensor intermittent failure maybe), clean the MAF. When this is done perform all the resets listed here.
