Hey there! Super new to G’s, and honestly I’ve never had a car with power telescopic steering installed haha. The control works, it goes in and out, and it goes down...but won’t go back up at all. I didn’t hear anything but it wouldn’t go back up away from my legs.

Is there something I can replace here? Do I have to replace the whole motor for the steering column? Is this common? I didn’t have much luck in the search.

Likely the gear setup in the column. Looks like Dorman sells a replacement kit here for just the gears, if you are mechanically inclined.

 

i was thinking the gears, but I feel like I would at least hear it trying if it was a stripped gear. It makes no noise going up, but sounds like a normal motor going in/out/down. I’m suspect of the switch... wondering if that’s a part I can buy individually lol.

 

I'd unplug the switch so you know exactly what the harness looks like then buy a used one on eBay or find a local G in a pick-n-pull.

 

Is this harness a complete plug in off the main one and would it acting up affect different warning lights i.e. seat belt light, turn signal indicators or is that an altogether different problem. I lose one occasionally and can move the column just a bit and they're back on.
