hoping for some purchase advice - 08 g35x sedan

Hi guys, I am looking for a second car to do some work travel in as my other vehicle is a Hummer H3 and not exactly a highway trips kinda vehicle lol. Hoping to stay in the $5-8k range, which is difficult right now to find something clean and lower miles in this used car market.

But I found a local Mercedes dealer with an 08 G35x automatic sedan. One owner with 133k on it. Dealer service every 3-5k miles based on the carfax records. 60k and 90k services performed. No major work to speak of reflected other than maintenance and those services, fluid flushes.

This fits what I'm looking for in terms of a well maintained vehicle. Car is VERY clean in terms of cosmetics.

They are asking $7500, which I'm going to go in much lower as a cash buyer and hope to be more in line with private party price of $6500.

My question is on the AWD and transmission reliability - are there issues ahead with these? Differential, or trans slippage? If I'm buying at $6500, I need to get another 75k miles out of it.

Overall thoughts? I love these vehicles and had a friend who owned one for years, and he swears by the motor, but he had a MT and didn't have AWD either.

original owner, ~120,000 miles, no transmission or awd issues. had both front bearings replaced, some radiator hoses, thermostat, recently valve covers, and need rear struts soon. that's all for the past 13 years, in addition to regular maintenance (oil changes, brakes, all fluids every 30,000 miles). i get ~19 mpg mixed driving.

Agree!!! On the older sedans, you can actually change the tranny oil, and transfer case oil. on the new G37's its a bit more difficult,

Just keep in mind that luxury sports cars are expensive to maintain. It's got a lot more moving parts on the front suspension.

G35x
TCO has been quite low for me on my '07 G35x. I have around 110k miles. Still on stock suspension with not a creak, rattle, or knock.

Not a weep, seep, or leak anywhere to be found on vehicle I purchased new (14 years, 3 months, 22 days)
