Catalytic Converters bad - best option? Berks?

Cats on my moms 2007 base sedan are both goners. This car is totally stock and an old lady car.

I'm not new to this platform as I own an 08 TT Z so I do know quite a bit about these cars and the exhaust options.

I obviously don't want to totally straight pipe a 73 year old woman's car nor do I want to spend the price of new oem cats....hell even the used cats are outrageous now...so I was thinking that my best option may be the Berk Resonated Test Pipes?

I want to spend as little as possible without making the car ridiculously loud.

This is what I was thinking of buying ($224 for the pair with resonators)

Any other suggestions?

Thanks guys

Test pipes are going to make it loud, no way around that.

Find an HR equipped G, Z, FX in a local salvage yard and pull the cats from it.

Bigger question though, why on earth did BOTH cats fail? Is it throwing codes or something? Do you live in the rust belt?

If it's throwing codes are you sure it's not just an exhaust leak?

Yeah its both cats bad for sure. They actually have just been neglected for awhile and the car is 180k. They are definitely toast.

The cats for these cars just don't exist in my area at the junkyards oddly. So aftermarket replacement or sourcing them online is my only real options and I am hesitant on buying a used one online as you never really know what your getting. The berk Resonated pipes I can get for under $300 new to the door I just don't don't know if this is a good option for her car as she's old lol. I have never heard them in person and just don't know how much louder they will be than stock.

My car has the full motordyne exhaust and the last thing I want is her car being even remotely close to how loud mine is lol

I don't know anyone who has used the eBay catalytic converters but they offer them for practically every vehicle at an insanely low price so that might be an option.

Seriously, they sell pairs of eBay cats for about the same price as those Berk TP's...

My cats are both bad on my 2007 w/ 120k on it. Has been throwing codes for a long time, expensive but I have to have both replaced with new OEM. Is this more of a common issue as these cars age?

Aftermarket cats

I just got a set of FIRST CHOICE catalytic converters, a Canadian company, for my 07 g35x sedan. They were under $300 for the pair on ebay. They are NOT California or New York emissions compliant. But I live in CT. I keep gettin a trouble code , bank 2 under manufacturers threshold, my car has over 233k miles on it. Idk where you live but pretty sure test pipes, or straight pipes, gonna kick your check engine light on. But I'd do a lil more research b4 you go with those.
