07 G35x running staggered winters?
07 G35x running staggered winters?
Hey everyone, so my buddy is selling me some winter tires for cheap and 2 are 225 50 17 and the others are 225 55 17. I know there is a little wiggle room with the ATTESA but I am just wanting be to sure I'm not going to ruin my car. Thanks ahead of time guys.

If you're trying to save money, just go to a used tire shop and get 4 used winters.
If you buy them off your buddy, you're still paying someone to mount them.
Imagine if you paid your buddy, paid to get them mounted, then you found out later they gave you problems, then you'll have to pay again to replace 2 or worse replace all 4.

There isn't any wiggle room for an AWD, you're probably mistakenly thinking about the 3% difference that's allowed on the RWD ones.
Additionally, those two tire sizes you listed are actually a 3.1% difference in size so they wouldn't even work on the much more forgiving RWD cars, you will definitely screw something up with those mounted on an AWD one.

You can run staggered if you stay under 1% diameter front-rear difference. As Cleric mentioned, your listed tires are may cause problems.
A common size a lot of awd people run with the G37 19" coupes wheels (19x8.5 and 19x9.0) are 245/40 and 275/35 and those diameter are pretty much a perfect match at only a 0.4% difference in diameter.
With 370z wheels being more afforable and popular, its common to see staggered setups on awd models.
The GTR comes in a staggered setup and some BMW X drive models will also.
