What hose is this?

I apologize in advance for this ridiculous post. I have a hose that is broken but I don't know what it is or where it goes. When under the car, it is directly above the rack and pinon. The pictures below were taken from the drivers side front wheel well pointed toward the engine. I know the pictures suck. I'm going to try to get better ones. Just to give you some perspective, you can see the lower joint steering column on the right side and its going down to the rack which is not visible. It appears that the hose connects to a metal hose in on the upper right. The lower portion that is broken is rubber and it's about 1 inch in diameter (although I didn't measure it). At no point did I find a puddle under the car so it's hard to tell what fluid was in there. Everything still seems full. Car still drives fine (at least for now). Any ideas you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks!

I can't really tell from the picture, check your fluid levels and see what's low on fluid.

Better Pictures

I appreciate you helping me this this! I took the drivers front wheel and wheel well lining off and got a much better view. I can't really tell where it's coming from, but it comes straight down and behind the back of the exhaust manifold covers. That's why it's got that temperature shielding on the upper end. Then it comes across above the steering column link, into a 90 degree bend and then it looks like its mounted to the side of the transmission. I'm not positive about that though.

I'm not low transmission fluid but I'm also not driving the car until I figure this out. It's an automatic transmission.

Someone from reddit told me that its not a hose but the starter motor power wire.

Word on the street is that I've got a valve cover gasket leak and oil dripping down. Seems that solve that mystery. Now on to fixing it...
