Shifter Park Pin
So, I just got back from deployment, headed to my friend's place to get the G and investigate the issue he's been having with her (he's been driving her occasionally just to keep everything good to go). The problem is that the shifter, when placed into park, isn't going far enough forward to engage the brake interlock and go up enough to tell the computer it's in park. So I popped it all open to look, and it appears the pin is bent back just enough to prevent it from moving upwards. It's close enough that I can push it with a screwdriver and it will go in and up. How exactly can I repair this? At the moment the only way to make it all work is leaving the console open when parked, since the shifter needs to be in neutral to put it all back together.

No, I'm 99% sure it's bent. You can see in the picture that the shifter can go any further forward, and it still took some effort to push the pin forward enough to be able to move up. As it sits now I have to put effort into pushing it down to take it out of park.

About the only thing I can think of is just bending it back somehow. There is a slot that it needs to align with in order to slide up into it, and that is the problem. Basically, as the lever goes forward, the pin goes into the white piece, and once aligned with the slot the pin moves upwards and the white piece moves with it. The white piece ties in to the brake pedal interlock and prevent it from being taken out of Park accidentally. Since the pin doesn't move upwards into the slot without some help, it doesn't fully go into Park and can easily be popped into Reverse and also doesn't tell the computer that it's in Park so it will provide an obnoxious audible beep. On top of that it will prevent me from using the power door locks to lock the car.

The car thinks it's somewhere in between reverse and park, so it sends a non stop beep as a reminder. Because if this OP also can't lock his doors from his fob.
The only way OP can engage park is to remove the center console, and use a tool like a screwdriver to force the metal piece further into the white piece .

I've got an interim fix in place now. Tried bending it back with no luck, there just isn't a practical way of doing it. I grabbed one of my hobby knives and shaved a bevel on the slot a little bit so that the pin will slide into it. It won't freely move all the way up, but if I pull the top part of my aftermarket shifter off I can access the linkage and pull it up the rest of the way. A little obnoxious, but it works.

I think the issue is actually that the top button you depress to get it into park isn't pushing down on enough to bring that cross rod low enough to get into the next groove and it's probably hanging up on the reverse detent part.
I know speedkar99 made a video disassembling that shifter and I'm pretty sure he posted it on the forums somewhere.

The pin is definitely bent, easy see when looking up close, however I'm pretty sure the reason the pin is bent is due to exactly what you described.
