Shifter Park Pin
Here's that video Speedkar made. He does a full disassembly of the shifter, might help shed some light on why that pin bent.
Keep in mind I think the G he disassembled was a 2004??? Should be essentially the same shifter as you V36 though.

Gear shift not going into park either.
no you're not. Mine is sitting outside of work doing the same freaking thing. Im trying to figure out how to get the gear shifter thing to pop off so I can find the part. I am a female, so any advice would be greatly appreciated....
I can relate to this issue as i'm the one that caused it in my G.
Few months ago, i was diagnosing the looong engine restart times and i got so fed up with that G that i literally grabbed the shifter, pressed the brake pedal and it wouldn't release so i pulled it VERY HARD and it went into D and i heard a crack. I was too pissed off to think straight so i pushed it back into P and it wouldn't go all the way.
I left it like that overnight to cool off and the next day, took the top cover off along with side console covers and found that metal pin that goes left-to-right through the shifter was bent like a bow. I took a 8mm socket and bent it back as straight as i saw and honestly, the shifter works hell of alot better than it did before i bent it!
So bend the metal rod forward a bit and it will go into that slot.
Unless, you have something that fell into the shifter assembly and is blocking it from being locked in park..

I'll try another tool because it's clearly not going in all the way and catching.
That steel rod is pretty hard and strong, it's Nissan security at it's best (not to forget the bypass hole) but that rod is fixable, just find a 1/4" long socket that will fit with a extension on it and hold the shifter and with the other hand, bend it. It will bend since it's already bended you just need to get a grip on it. Remove the side center console plastic for better access. It will feel as if it's gonna break but it won't, it didn't break on mine..
As for the water intake; Assuming you have a sunroof (i hate sunroofs!!!) most likely the drain tube detached from the drain port right above your head. Remove the handle above your head, peel back the door moulding and pull down the upholstery to see if the tubing 'shrank off' like mine did. If it's attached, then you'll need to do a the Sunroof Bypass procedure, it's a common issue where Nissan put 1/16" drain holes for 3/8" tubing..
Passenger side has the Body Control Module which is right underneath the sunroof drain plug that clogs up and lets the water flow right over the BCM which will provide you with a spectacular Christmas lights show on your dash along with automatic wipers, blinkers, blower controls and bunch of other stuff.
