Need help suspension question

I have tried the search but haven’t found anything I have a 2007 Infiniti g35x I need struts badly at tax time I am going with air bags but for now I found a new set of Megan racing ez2 series coilovers for cheap problem is on the box they say for 03-06 awd but on the Megan site they are listed for 03-08 now I was just at junkyard last weekend trying to find a set of struts with no luck but I did look at a 06 g35x and it looks like the only difference in the strut is how the sensor wire and brake line brackets are mounted I should have pulled them and compared better but just looking other then the brackets the look identical can someone verify they will fit plz Ty for any help

Your mom's boyfriend
It might not seem like it's worth it , with the price of gas as high as it is today.... but sometimes you might have to drive more than an hour or two to find what you're looking for .

Just go down to a local auto parts store and have them pull both sets of struts off the shelf then just compare the two side by side.

Ty but unfortunately they would of had to order in the struts so nothing to compare so I pulled one of mine and took it with me just didn’t want to waste the gas on a hour and 10 min ride each way which turned into hour and 45 looks like they will work I had to wait for rain to stop going out now to try and install will post pics soon

They fit

Ok so 1st let me start by saying they do fit with almost no issues there were only 2 real problems I saw but were easily fixed issue 1 was the bracket for sensor wire is different but all I had to do was adjust it so that the bracket for sensor wire on knuckle cleared bracket on coilover that was only issue I found on front there is also plenty of adjustment on front for height now for the rears they went right in no issue except they were 1.5”-2” shorter then stock to start and didn’t leave much adjustment maybe a 1/2” to adjust up for height which I’m fine with I like where they sit I have to lower my front about 1.5”-2” to match rears I drove it around today and I’m quite happy with the ride hope this helps someone somewhere somehow ty all for the help oh also I did have to drill the holes for the extensions wasn’t hard used a hole saw and cordless drill will report back in a week or so after I have more road time

I have a feeling you'll need to roll those rear fenders a little, not a big deal you can google how to do it yourself or just talk to a local shop about doing it.

You're also going to need a camber kit now that you're lower, I would recommend getting one ASAP because your rear toe is going to be quite a bit out of spec.

Are you sure you aren't missing a spacer on the rear? I'm surprised it was that much lower than stock? I think a non-true coilover (one that uses an adjustable spring inside the spring bucket like you have installed) is still supposed to use that top rubber perch which is like 1.5 inches thick. That could be exactly why you were so much lower than stock.

Nevermind I just looked it up and apparently it does NOT use the stock spring perch, you could always take the stock perch, trim off the cone, then put the perch back in place and use it as a spacer though.

Also, those holes you drilled for the adjuster, you could fill that nicely with a rubber grommet.

Yeah I am going to the auto store to see if I can find grommets but I put the coilover next the the stock strut and it’s adjusted as far as I can and it’s def shorter and camber isn’t bad I had springs in it b4 I put these in and I’m sitting about the same I have had it lowered on springs for a few months now and tires are wearing fine for now they only have to last until I get my taxes back and then I’m doing the suspension with airbags going to upgrade to big brakes if I can find a reasonable set along with camber kits/arms or what ever I need I’m new to the car seen I’m more of a motorcycle guy classic *** bikes and dirt bikes so still learning want to get brakes and suspension set up then I’ll start on the go fast mods rather be able to turn and stop correctly b4 going fast

5yr project

So my plan is to set up brakes and suspension properly 1st then build a motor that will handle turbo/s or a supercharger then the body anyway somewhat in that order I get 15-20k back every year in taxes so that’s when I will be making my big purchases that’s why it’s a five year plan and anything small I can pick up in the meantime but like I said I’m still learning I do quite a bit of reading about my car and mods that can be done my wife says I’m obsessed lol Ty for the advice also
