Intermittent P1757

2007 infiniti g35x sedan.

car runs and drives just fine the only issue is occasionally it will throw the p1757 code and hold gears. I had a simalar issue with it a couple months ago and i did the tcm solder job and that fixed it, well it’s come back but only intermittently. when i say intermittent, im meaning majority of the time it will, but we have gotten it to not throw the code, and subsequentally, not go into limp mode

could it possibly a solenoid that bad? maybe my solder job broke and when it expands with heat it breaks the connection again? I plan on digging into it later this week but i’m just wonder what else could cause this, it’s worth noting this is my (nonmechanically inclined) brothers car, when he told me it was happening i went and checked the trans fluid and the dipstick was dry, however, after adding only a half quart it was a the top portion of the “hot” reading could it just need more fluid? i’ve been slowly adding fluid (i have added a quart total so far) I hate how long it takes to get an actual reading in the transfluid because if the residual left from adding more in lol. any advice would be great!

It's probably not from the trans fluid, my suspicion would be the solenoid failing. If you do end up tearing it apart just buy another solenoid ahead of time and plan on swapping it regardless of whether you find a broken pin or not.

You should also clean up the transmission ground on the top front of the engine timing chain cover, two small wires with green colored bolts, one is the transmission ground.

pulled the valve body and saw my solder had broke, resoldered, she’s all good now, if this happens again i’m just gonna get a new valve body

Probably didn't get cleaned well enough or no flux was used. Things like that really need to be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol.

Even with flux core solder wire you still should give a light coat of flux paste.

Obviously a brand new non-broken connection would be best though. That connection is subject to pretty severe vibration, the factory should have encapsulated it in resin.
