Tricks to remove plug blocking thermostat bolt?

I've been fighting an overheating issue with my 2008 Sedan and when I went to replace the thermostat, I'm completely stuck unable to get the pigtail undone that blocks the leftmost bolt when facing the engine. Are there any tricks to getting it out of the way without breaking it? So I know what it is now, the camshaft position sensor. I may just try to remove the actual sensor, since I cannot get this thing unplugged...

Replaced the thermostat on the 07 two weeks ago. You have to remove the sensor, Even if you remove the plug, you cannot insert the bolt back with the sensor in place
