hello folks,
I was replacing my thermostat housing and the left bolt broke leaving behind the threaded half still screwed in. Any suggestion on how I can remove this???
There's enough thread sticking out that you can grab it with a small pair of channel lock pliers like the channel lock 426 (maybe 420 but they're pretty big in that tight area). Then just unscrew it with the channel locks.

thanks for the reply.....
one more question....
is it safe to remove this cylindrical sensor? safe being no small parts / liquid will fall/come out off? i am not sure what its called but its in the timing chain cover.
Yes you can remove it, that's your cam actuator solenoid, just unplug the harness, remove that single bolt, then gently wiggle it out. There is an o-ring at the front you want to be careful with. Some oil will drip out so have a rag handy.
Took me a second to figure out what that was then I realized you have the HR engine
Here is what the component looks like when removed, I think the torque on the bolt is 85 INCH lbs, FSM says to replace the o-ring every time it's removed but it says that for EVERY sensor, just inspect the o-ring for damage and reuse it if it looks fine.

Get yourself a stud extractor. Most auto parts stores or Lowes/home Depot will have them.
My thermostat will not come out of the block. Its loosey goosey, but it won't pull out. Took out the 3 bolts. Does anyone else have experience with this?
Maybe the thermostat housing warped from overheating?
