08 G35S Budget BBK?
08 G35S Budget BBK?
Hey everyone,
My stock brakes on my 2008 G35S 6MT are on their last legs and I've been looking into doing an upgrade. I found a video on how to do a cheap Brembo upgrade on the earlier 350Zs and I was curious if it would be applicable? I know there were some suspension and brake changes but I was unsure of how the bolt patterns would line up.
If anyone's done this or has any advice on something like it, I would greatly appreciate it! Here's the link to the video:
Thank you!

since the G also came with Brembo's they bolt directly, I do believe the bolts are longer for Brembo's and you'll need the lines as well. Might need to modify the dust cover to fit them if you can't get a hold of the brembo one or take it out completely.
The Akebono caliper's from the 370/G37 are also a popular option but you'll need to buy a bracket to fit that bolt pattern.

The issue you'll find with doing the "rebuilt swap" like suggested in that video is there's usually another $75-$100 CORE CHARGE for the calipers.
That puts it all about in-line with just buying a set of Brembo's on eBay.
As for compatibility, the V35 and V36 chassis can interchange brakes, you will need the rotors, and sometimes the short brake lines/banjo bolts for whatever caliper you're switching to.
The V36 chassis came with the Akebono BBK as a factory option, the early V35 came with the Brembo BBK as a factory option. Dust shields almost always have to be trimmed, not a huge deal. The Akebonos will also require an adapter bracket and there's a few people making them, usually $100-$150 for those brackets.
