headlight problems please help
hello i bought a used 2007 g35x its been great except the headlights flicker and go out so much i cannot drive it at night.it is mainly the driver headlight the passenger not as often.i read a bunch of stuff on this forum saying its the ballast so i bought 2 new ballast on amazon as recommended installed them the driver headlight is still going out.i dont have to hit a bump within couple minutes of being on the driver headlight will shut off if i turn switch off then back on works for couple minutes to maybe 5 minutes does same thing.please help i cannot drive it at night with it turning off all the time.so i replaced the 2 ballasts with new ones i could not replace the new harnesses that came with the new ballast cause there is a plastic piece in the headlight that the wire is hooked to cannot get unhooked and i have not replaced the bulbs cause everything i read says if they turn on there good please ideas i will try or replace whatever i just need them to work.it bums me out i really like the car .thank you
Typically restrike is caused by a bad ballast but bad lamps can also cause restrike.
Also, there should be a ground wire for each ballast in the engine bay on the front of the wheel well (one on each wheel well) You should unbolt it, use a wire brush and clean up the 1-hole lug, and the bolt, apply a little electrical anti-oxidation grease, bolt it back together.
Pretty sure the V36 chassis still has those grounds, I know the V35 chassis did.
