Thanks

Thank you for sharing this extensive list of parts. I am sure it will be useful to anyone trying to complete the swap. I was initially looking at a VR transmission swap but I understood this would be more difficult. The TCM and ECM bit rates make this more difficult.

Did you change the center console? Or did you retain the old console.

Cheers again

I had to complete the inside lol I don’t do anything half a**** lol and yes the vr30 swap is a whole other mission, it’s tough because the vr30 is a 7speed and u usually swap the valve body from the stock g37 7speed over to the vr30 trans and I have no idea how that works with our car

Clean

That looks clean bro. Did you get the console from EBay? I have the part number for the shifter column. Can you share the one for the remaining assembly?

Yes, I’ve had this car since 09, it’s done about 140k miles now. Been maintaining it periodically. Did the gallery gaskets, timing, water pump etc last year. I was thinking of eventually getting the supercharger from Z1. I know the 5 speed is good for 500tq but I was thinking this would be a better driving experience in the long term.

Yes from my research we can’t run the VR trans without a standalone ECU. Our ECU’s do not play well with the 7 Speeds in the G37 or the Q50s.

I got the center console from onpointparts.com unfortunately I don’t have the receipt but I don’t think it showed the part # on it anyway.

if your going fi I would definitely go with the mt swap. I’m finishing up a rear mount turbo setup on my sedan atm.

Neat bro. You got any socials where we can follow the build.

My tuner is RaceBox. Are you getting a remote tune?

it’s gonna be remote tuned by Moncef from Admintuning, and as far as socials u can find me on IG Juniorboye37, I literally just started the page so there’s no content but I’ll upload the mods I’ve done if that’s what you’d like to see. I usually do everything hush hush and I’m a mechanic so it’s hard for me to take pics and videos while I’m working since I’m always on a time limit using my shops lifts lol and the rear mount is going to be revealed once it’s finished and I rerun it at out drag strip in June.
