Hello gentleman, im having the dreaded p0024 and p0014 codes, im looking to get the magnetic retarders changed, ive sourced them but before i purchase them im looking to find out the difference between the DE retarders and HR retarders, i am planning to take the ones from an old 08 ex35 with the HR motor but at first i only came across the ones for the DE platform, guess im asking for my knowledge, because the DE makes less power the tuning for the timing is different correct ? meaning the vtc retarders would be useless in an HR motor. Called Kraft Nissan here in tallahassee fl and they could only provide me PN for the DE retarders and for the camshaft sprocket cover assembly which was quoted at about 450 per bank. if there's any other insight you all could offer id greatly appreciate it. if these's retarders dont work my next step is to replace the actuators.
