2008 g35 journey.
don't know if this is a known thing. or if mine has a problem.
I was working on the engine in general, cleaning things up, replacing wear parts and cleaning the tb. just general maintenance after getting the car a few weeks back.
first infiniti, so it may just be how it works. I usually leave the engine covers off the car, because they are just decorative and for noise, and so I don't have to keep pulling them off while I am working on the car.

While changing things I caused a bunch of vacuum leaks, hoses tore or cracked from moving them. So I spent several days chasing down leaks, parts and whatever.
finally got it all back together and the idle was still surging but wasn't tripping any codes finally.
used a smoke machine on it and found the hole in the center towards the passenger compartment had smoke coming out.
the only thing that hole is for is a bolt to hold the engine cover on.
never seen that before. just wondering if that was a known thing or someone put too big a bolt in and cracked it there or something.
the other one isn't a through hole. so I don't understand.
