Oh yeah, selling a V36 seems like a challenge.. I'm asking 6k for mine and so far after a month on Facebook, no catches.. Seems like I'll keep it because it's worth much more than that and I'm not giving it away for free.. A manual V36 is rare so it should of sold for more than that.. I was gonna do a manual swap but I got distracted by my 600+ horsepower Jag..

Agreed, I had it listed at $5k and wanted as close to that as possible. There are some cosmetic issues with this car though, paint is a little weird in spots (crappy respray I think) and salvage title from minor damage (likely what blew out the subframe bushings and caused this wander) so weighing my options of fixing all these things then still struggling to sell it, I took what I could get.
Crazy to think what I sold it for is what my friend paid for this car 4 years ago in barely running condition 🤦‍♂️

4 years ago was the beginning of post-covid used car craziness lol i've paid $2,800 for my 07 G back in 2019. It did have 220k on it and had a code (vct magnet) that i've fixed later, but was otherwise in mint condition (perfect paint and premium wheels that were also mint). when this engine grenaded last week (intake cam snapped), i hopped on marketplace and couldn't believe what people on there are trying to get for their cars lol ordered a JDM VQ with the trans for $2,300 instead.

I didn't know it was a salvage.. In that case, you got a good deal.

Yeah, people get super weird about salvage titles. Understandably if you don't know the reason for the salvage brand. It also depends on the state, I recently learned that Georgia scrutinizes the hell out of salvage title cars. Here in NC it's treated just like a clean title, only difference is the words "salvage rebuilt" on the title. Most of my cars are salvage title, mostly for stupid reasons. One of them was literally totalled for a damaged rear bumper cover. Yes, JUST the cover. Meanwhile my E46 took some serious pulling out on the rear quarter after I was rear ended, but the insurance company didn't care and it remained clean... oh well, I won't complain, they paid for the body work!

Yeah, it's a buyers market right now. People either want too much for their cars or just can't sell them anyway. I've been picking up cars like crazy for next to nothing, but I can't sell cars for even really low prices. Hoping the market changes soon... I have a lot of cars to get rid of lol.

Well, people here in Miami prefer to buy new cars over used as Florida has no safety inspections and too many crooked car sellers here pushing salvage junk as 'clean' titles.. Title washing..
So they buy new, make few payments and then the repo guys go to work.. And the cycle continues meanwhile used good cars like mine get left behind.. If i don't get my value, then i'll keep it as a 'spare'.

Yep, that's how dishonest people ruin it for the rest of us who actually go through our cars before selling them.

yup, that's why i'm weary of rebuilt/salvage title cars. you can never trust how someone put it back together. seeing before/after would help a lot, so you can at least inspect the areas where it took damage. Gs are notorious for front-end damage (homeboys can't handle 300hp at the crank lol) and you can see the "rebuilt" ones on marketplace where bozos couldn't be bother to tie-in the bumper into the fender properly, and it's sticking out like a sore thumb. i just had to drop a new drivetrain into mine and the whole front-end had to be torn apart, so i can see how someone can easily ruin the "put back together" process. If i were to buy a wrecked one from an auction (salvage title) and repair it - that's one things, but buying from somebody else is a whole 'nother ball game.

Absolutely, these cars can be tricky to put back together properly if you're not familiar with them. I had to piece together my old '06 after I bought it. It also had previous front end damage and someone slapped the bumper cover back on (barely). Had to totally re-engineer their awful work lol.
