+1 with what el duderino said. I highly doubt there will be an aftermarket 10" woofer that will fit in the door. Although, at least we'll be able to fit a larger woofer like a 7" with a spacer.

i think you are both wrong. I know Ken (el_duderino) is our resident expert, but Infiniti has been talking up this 10inch woofer thing in all of their publicity material, I doubt they would keep toting how it is the first factory speaker application of this type if it wasn't going to producton. That would be a big waste of direct marketing opportunity to a captive audience. In the infiniti walk around video they talk about the speakers and in the car and driver video.

I really do think this is going to be in the production vehicle. They said that the entire door is designed around the 10" woofer. the mid-range is above the door handle and the tweeter i think is in the same location.

check out the video on youtube

It has a 10" woofer in the rear deck and 3-way components in the front doors. They will probably be 6.5" 4" and tweet like most 3-way.

uhm that video clearly states that it is 10" woofer in the front doors and that the entire door is designed around the speaker so WTF r u talking about? Do you have some kind of inside knowledge on the actual production specs or was that video provided by infiniti personel just incorrect?

Guys, why are you doubting this so much. There is no reason why you can't put a 10" woofer in each door. Infiniti is talking about 10" woofers in both doors all over the place. They're not gonna tell the entire world this and then just decide...uh, lets not do it.

Granted, it would probably be just as effective to put them in the rear deck, but perhaps they're doing this so the rear deck doesn't rattle to pieces.

I started typing this and then came back to the computer and sent it after the vid was posted. Sorry about that.
From being in the car audio industry for quite a few years I do not see how you would put a 10" driver in the doors due to the depth unless it is an inverted magnet design. I guess we will see soon enough.

FWIW, the latest generation Corvette has 10" speakers in the doors. I assume this is a new trend.
