From being in the car audio industry for quite a few years I do not see how you would put a 10" driver in the doors due to the depth unless it is an inverted magnet design. I guess we will see soon enough.

okay i dont crap about car audio.... but all i can say to your post is uhh.. then it probably IS an inverted magnet design

Morel has a pretty shallow 9" out there, I bet that would fit and easily demolish the Bose. I almost had a 3-way Morel setup put into my car using that.

...it is - Neodymium or whatever. Inverted magnet structures are the most effective way to utilize space, but it's not very effective in terns of the overall quality of sound reproduction.

I wonder if this system is all in the front doors, for I noticed in some photos of the new G35, that there is only one speaker location in the rear doors. That's fine so long is this is a true 2-way design and not one of Bose's crap "full range" POS speakers. There is no such thing a "Full Range" speaker unless your only listening to AM radio. What's in the back deck..?

I also hope there is not the POS Bose "Active Equalization" and if there is, it's actually calibrated correctly.

It's hard to determine a measurement w/out a reference point. If someone help up a dollar bill in this photo on the speaker location, then you could give a better guess as to the size of the speaker.

I wonder if the show even had the 10" in it. It sure didn't look that way in person. Also, it's supposed to be a 3-way system and if you look at the top of the door you can make out a shadow of a single smaller driver. Where's the midrange? We might not be looking at the right door. They might not have had the system completed yet, which is probably why people who got the invite to check out the car couldn't even listen to the system.

I wonder why Infiniti opted to show a pretty low end model of the G35 for the auto show... Honda also did this with the Civic.. they had a DX or something damn near base sitting on the show floor. It was pure crap.

d00d infiniti is a bunch of idiots if they aren't reading this forum. why don't they ever tell us they are here if they are. it would only encourage us to give more input. they should answer our questions. we are their most important users. early adopters that test their products to their extreme.

Tweeter - opposite side of Rear View mirror
Midrange - right by the handle
Woofer - lower left

I think the mid is 4", so that's a good ref.

And it's a WOOFER, not a SUBWOOFER!

So i don't see why not it can't be possible. Being that it's a woofer, i'd estimate it's depth to be at most 4", which is posssible,

They have comp sets with mounting depths that much.

http://www.partsexpress.com/webpage....ctGroup_ID=580

Almost all the 10" WOOFERS sold here are 4" or less.

IT's been done several times, over and over.

It does not have to be inverted.

Oh yea by the way, i'm new, not a g35 owner....yet!! i'm loving the 07!

I had to join, mainly to respond to this thread. I'm a car audio freak!

From a Corvette forum..

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=908365

and review of it (no mention of the 10s)

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=908365

Why don't Bose stereos live up to there name? As far as stock stereos go, the one in my 06 is ok, but still nothing to write home about..

The 07 will have 10s (drivers or woofers, not subs as someone else pointed out) in the doors I'm sure, and probably will be good and not great.

Cheers,
Brian
