The prefix method isn't working. I made a post yesterday evening in the winter tire section, using the Canada prefix, and now it has dissapeared

^ that's because you didn't follow the new rules.

...It looks like it's going to take a little time for everyone to get used to them.

So here's a new one to me... this guy does have his handwritten name on the photo, but that part was cropped from a different image and overlaid on the item photo he/she has for sale.

^ thread was created before the new rules went into effect, but normally I would say simply chopping in a handwritten sign into your photo wouldn't be accepted. He also didn't have a date included either, so if that was a new thread it would be deleted.

^^^

there is always going to be corner cutting... I'm sure people will eventually take pics with their user name when they first get the parts - then post those pics later when they are selling the parts...

^ hence why dates are required. If someone wants to take pics with some future date, then wait till that date has passed before creating a thread there's not much we can do about that.

It has nothing do do with the geographical size of the area, but rather the number of members and posts for that topic for the area. We have a ton of members from SoCal and NorCal, and lots of transactions (threads for the classifieds) that originate from that area. So the point is that if Canadians should get their own section (so they can seperate out the US FS threads) then I could see people from California making the same argument.

Didn't mean to offend anyone. My point just had to do with one of the reasons we create new sections (number of posts).

IMHO, unless said person is skilled enough to photoshop well enough to fool the mods, it would be much easier, not to mention faster just to actually do it the proper way.

As said, an obvious photoshop is not going to be accepted.

We understand the "system" is flawed and there are always going to be "ways around," the idea here is that the user name and date be written on a piece of paper in the picture. If we were asking the date simply be timestamped via the camera, then Photoshopping the date in would be easy. But it's a little harder to Photoshop a handwritten date.

For example:

Most people won't be able to doctor in a name/date into a picture that well.

I really like this new change and rules. But I think mods should give us thread starters a chance to create a new thread following all rules, but give us a chance to post pics later.

Sometimes I (we) like to get our FS thread a headstart and then add pics later.

what Im asking for is like a 1 day grace period to add pics, before threads are deleted.

The issue is, a lot of people say they will and never do. That leads to staff having to check the same thread multiple times.

If you're really going to post up pics, then just do it before you make the thread.
