will there be something stated in the thread that once the item has been sold that it be closed out after a certain amount of days hence this is annoying to scroll through the thread to only find out that the item has been sold awhile ago and wasted searching has been all for nothing.....just a thought??

yup....here's an excerpt from the rules that addresses this.

When Item is SOLD or Sale is FINISHED
1. Please edit the original post and add a comment to mark it as "SOLD", "CLOSED" etc.
Please do not delete the content of the OP, as this will be of value to future classified posts.
Also, do NOT add a new post for same. (needless bump)
2. Please Close your thread. You have the ability to close (Lock) your Original Post in the Classifieds ONLY.
Basically, if you see a thread is locked you won't even need to enter because you'll know the item is sold. You can still go view it if needed so you can see what it sold for to get an idea if another item you are looking at is priced reasonably, or if you are trying to figure out how much you should sell your item for.

Complete list of the new rules are listed here.

Looks good, Ian!

Another benefit for me, my announcements are all gone now, so I shouldn't get anymore private messages asking "Why can't I post in the marketplace?" or "XXX scammed me, please help".

My name's been bold and black since September 2008, but I was still getting 1-3 messages a month with regard to problems in the marketplace. Given that they weren't coming everyday, and that I wouldn't have even logged into the admin cp I my name was still read, I simply answered their questions as I always have.

It looks like you've done a lot of work to make the marketplace a safe and friendly place for all of us to complete our transactions. Driver is lucky to have you!

why can't you view all posts in the private classifieds anymore?

Only issue I have with the new marketplace is that I cant figure out how to click "view all" on the private classifieds to just see all the items like I normally do.

+1

That makes is so much easier than going to each and every sub forum in the marketplace.

And nice job making this more like My350Z.com.

so should I delete / re-list my item for sale? i don't get it... and what if i took pics that i haven't updated yet, but I didn't do the handwritten sign thing? also, what if you prefer local sale but might be willing to ship? sorry if these were answered somewhere in the post / links but i didn't see them.
