Have a question about posting pictures.....

I have looked all over this site to try to find the answer to this.....If someone could point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

How do I embed a full size picture in my posts? Every time I upload a picture, all it gives me is a small thumbnail that people can click to make larger. I thought maybe you had to be a premier member to embed photos; but, I have seen registered users post large pics in posts. Below is an example of what happens when I try to post a pic.

Like I said, any help (or a point in the right direction) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You are embedding the thumbnail rather then the actual image.

Right Click the image, you will get a menu like this, if you do this on the thumbnail you will get thumbnail size pic,you need to open the thumbnail by clicking on it, a thumbnail is usually used as a preview so that they don't need to post such a large picture at first.

First arrow - you can see the actual image at its original size then you can just copy the link and embed it into the post

Second Arrow- Copies the link of the image and you can just embed it in your post.

posting pics larger then 1024x768 is frowned upon

Your instructions make sense but I am having trouble getting the same thing that you do.

I go to "manage attachments" and browse my desktop for the picture I want. I upload the picture and close the manage attachments window. Then I drop the click the manage attachments icon again to drop the picture into my post where I want it.

Then I end up with something that looks like this where the picture would go.

[ATTACH] 120266 [/ATTACH]

When I preview the post, it has inserted the thumbnail. When I click on it in the preview, it opens the picture in a separate internet explorer window. When I right click on the image in the separate window, I only have the same options that I have if I was trying on a right clicking on a picture on any webpage (save picture as…., email picture, print picture, copy, etc.)

If I post the picture, and click on it, I get something similar to what you show (with the black background) but right clicking on the image brings up a totally different menu. See below. Plus, I find it hard to believe that I would need to post a picture than copy the location and post it again every time I want to embed a picture. I suspect I am doing something very wrong.

I guess my question is "How do I get to the screen that you show? Is my process of attaching a picture incorrect?"

Again, I appreciate the help.

You are doing it right, using the template.

But to embed full size you need to copy image location (url)
The paste it into the post using [img] [/img] tags

The [img]tags auto insert if you paste the url using the icon

^ It can be done, you just have to grab the HTML/BBCode under the more sharing options if available. Though I believe that not all flickr photos have this - depending on rights reserved/sharing settings of the specific photo/account.

So basically all you have to is copy the HTML off of like photo bucket or something similar. Then paste it on your post and It will appear??
