You have the power, just do it!

On our MARKETPLACE when an item has been sold why not delete the thread? That way when we're looking for an item we won't have to go thru all those useless threads. I have members giving me PMs for stuff that been sold for years even though it says sold at the end/top. This should also include events, if it's in the past delete...delete!

Well sometimes ppl look at old fs threads for price reference.
It's not the seller fault that some ppl don't understand SOLD lol

We should just have a thread stickied in the marketplace for a reference price of sold items.

That's the one thing I use the old threads for. Price reference. It annoys me when they change the price to SOLD.

^Exactly.

The reason we keep the old threads around is for reference. When the user changes the price to "sold" that kinda screws that up.

I can't remember, do regular members have access to compare the versions of a post once it's edited? I was thinking they actually did.
Find an edited post and click the link that says "last edit blah blah blah by so-and-so"

^No members cannot see how a post was edited, only staff members can see previous versions of a post.

I still find that old FS threads, even if the price sold for has been removed, are great for reference purposes.

^Ok, I couldn't remember. I knew I had looked at previous versions of a post and I thought it was in my "pre-mod" days... but I guess I was hallucinating again... I either need more booze or not as much.....

.....goin with more

Leaving all these past events (more than two years) and items that have been sold long ago gives DRIVER a "Hoarder Status" which is a terrible decease. Wouldn't it be easier on the system if it didn't have to retain all that useless information?

We don't have access to DELETE threads but we do have access to CLOSE threads whenever or once the item is sold..

When i complete a sale.. i post "SOLD" in a reply, then i go back to the first thread where i posted and at the top and post SOLD and then i opt to close thread after my edit....

I never delete prices or anything about the sale so people can reference what the price was and everything else about the thread..

sux when people delete the whole first thread and put sold cuz then there is no reference..

but i do think that if a thread isn't bumped for over a month it should just be closed by the staff..

^your method is the correct way to handle a FS thread after the item has sold.
