Over run by vendors

Has anyone noticed that 3/4 of all the posts on here now are vendor spam? That's sad.

I agree it's annoying however without vendor sponsors we wouldn't have DRIVER nor would we be able to buy quality parts and a decent price. Early '90s all we had was what you read about in import mags....ignore the vendors posts!

That's why I just create a thread for you to come to me, you know where I am if you need something, now occasionally I will post a special, or like that Active Duty giveaway..... but not 100 posts,,,, and not bumping daily
but I am not above chatting about sports and other things I see on the forum

I don't have a problem with vendors bumping their threads in the Vendor Classified Sections. It is however, extremely annoying that EVERY regular sub-forum has duplicate threads from Adams Rotors or KNS Brakes. Those are spam to me, we don't allow Regular users to post FS or WTB threads in the regular sections, so why are these posts allowed to remain?

Keep vendor classifieds in the vendor classifieds sections.

And that's what distinguishes good vendors from the not so good... From what I've seen Phil's been more than helpful in lots of normal posts as well.. But certain vendors *ahem we all know who they are* just post a FS thread then bump it every day informing you that you can pm them to order... Lol we all know this and will contact you if we are interested

Nothing wrong with vendors bumping threads..they pay the big bucks monthly, it's understandable

Aren't they supposed to post in the vendor forums? At least post something worthwhile if you post in the general or model specific forums not just some lame "I'm here if you need brake pads" bump. There are a couple of great vendors that actually read the forums, Phil included, and offer help and advice, you guys kick a$$.

This place ran just fine 8 years ago without so damn many fly by night vendors. But when it was bought out and bought out again, the only thing that matters is the bottom line to the share holders. Public sales have ruined many a business.

sorry to see us mentioned here.
we apologize for posting and coming off in that fashion.
we're simply bumping a single thread in your sub-forum.

realize we are paid vendors and ultimatley the ones that fund & support these very forums for you all to use.
many sites actually allow & promote in-forum adverts as it is a way for the vendor to reach its customers & interact directly.

we make large investments every 6-12 months with forums sponsorships and sticking us in vendor-only sections DRASTICALLY effects our reach and truly discourages us from even being a vendor in the first place.
we are a business and we love to support the forums with both knowledge/info & product...we just want all to see what we have to offer & mean no harm in posting a thread per model.

I think what's disappointing is that it seems the vendors make more posts than the members. I know you paying to advertise here, just be a little less aggressive.

Put them on your ignore list. It's possible. I just tested it

Vendors are allowed to bump their threads once per day. I do wish that they would consolidate all their products offered in one thread with new threads created only for specials/sales and then locked afterward.
It does get rather annoying to see a full page of a vendor bumping his threads daily.
