please monitor the FS section closer.

Been on the search for wheels for a while and everytime single time I click on a FS thread, the item has already been sold. The same usually goes for most of the FS sections. Can we please get one of the mods (or a new mod) to keep the FS section clean of old/finished ads? It would probably eliminate 2/3 of the threads in there... I realize im not a "premier" member, but I would imagine a lot of people run into the same problem.

Thanks

I suggested a few years ago that they delete those threads where the item was sold but no, they want you to be able to compare prices. We all enjoy looking for something only to find it was sold some time last year. When I sell an item I delete the thread once it's sold....Gary

The onus is on the individual seller to lock their own threads once sold as noted in the Classifieds Rules. But many don't for various reasons. I'd go for laziness 90-95% of the time. What does being/not being a Premier Member have anything to do with this?

When Item is SOLD or Sale is FINISHED
1. Please edit the original post and add a comment to mark it as "SOLD", "CLOSED" etc.
Please do not delete the content of the OP, as this will be of value to future classified posts.
Also, do NOT add a new post for same. (needless bump)
2. Please Close your thread. You have the ability to close (Lock) your Original Post in the Classifieds ONLY.
That being said, when I see one I lock it but I'm not going to hunt for them like I used to.

This is after the fact but if you stumble across these threads that need to be locked why don't you just report the thread(s) and a mod can lock 'em from there? Staff can be proactive only up to a point.

Gary - if people locked their threads then the threads would fall off the active list and would only show up as older archived threads. Why would someone think (for example) a 6 month old thread would normally still be active? Price comparison history is a great feature to have for buying/selling research.

Is there an icon/button for reporting them? I didn't know I could do that. As far as the premier/non-premier comment, I more or less was just referring to the fact that since I'm not a contributing member I'm willing to put up with/deal with more little stuff like this than if I was paying for the premier membership. After-all this is the internet and we cant please everyone all the time.

If their thread isn't closed when it should be, just post in there telling them to close it. And keeping the old threads around is definitely useful.

If you make me a mod I will keep that up to date! I have mod experience on other forums.
