Why is Infiniti sooooo vague about when this car is to be released?

If a fully loaded BMW 335i coupe is about $50K I can't see Infiniti getting the new G35 coupe too close to that. Infiniti has made great progress since the G35 was introduced but they still need to play the value game.

If the 335i coupe starts at $45K I suspect the 2008 G35 coupe will start at $36K and sell loaded for $42K.

^ That's what the current one does. Well, it starts at maybe $33K but a loaded coupe now is $42K. I expect the next loaded coupe to be high $40ks. They are trying to get into the high end game, which sadly cannot be won. If it's the same price, I will get the 335i. God forbid. It's ugly as sin, but it's quality and easy to mod. And better service.

It's hard comparing the two cars even without pricing for the revised coupe. The BMW base is a little more stripped down in that form. This is only an assumption on my part but I wouldn't think they would sell too many base models.

No assumption.... it's a fact.
I think I saw one a student post his new *stripper* but that was it.

Their base has improved, but still pretty basic.
In CDN $ it's pretty easy to get to $60K with sport, prem & AT

I was looking closer to $55K 6mt w/o prem
Funny but due to residuals, leasing is almost exactly the same as the '07 G coupe (~$50k)

Yeah I went on and priced one up and got up into $60-61K for what I thought I would like and similiar to current G configurations. I found the options part very confusing when you're not totally familiar with the car. Poor explanations on the packages/options. I was trying to get leather and sport and it seemed some stuff was duplicated between packages.

They want in the BMW market...base price of a 335 is over $40K and I'd bet base of a coupe will be near the same. Base sedan will be the $40K car on the lot...or maybe a little below $40K but close enough.

If they are the same to lease, I am not sure which I would get - because that is probably what I am going to do with my next car. HMM....

My friend bought a 335i coupe 2 weeks ago in Atlanta for $51K that had everything except NAV. He even got the active steering.

Considering BMW includes maintenance for 50K miles (even brake pads are covered) there is no way Infiniti will be competitve with the '08 coupe over 45K. Especially if its not under 5 seconds 0-60 like the BMW.
