Test Runs

Hey Everyone, I have a question and I would like to hear some people's thoughts... Why are there no videos or "spy shots" of "test runs" by Infiniti of the new G35 Coupe? When I search other forums (for example BMW) it is filled with these types of videos / pictures for cars that are soon to be released. Video's of the new M3 being tested on the track & road in Germany have been captured upwards of 6 months ago for the M3. These videos have nothing to do with BMW they are filmed by magazine photgraphers & car nuts who love to capture the testing of these new cars.

I ask because of course part of me would love to see the car in action but the other part of me is concerned that with out this real world testing they leave the first "round" of buyers to struggle through bugs & issues. These issues of course will be fixed under warranty but that is not the point if you know what I'm trying to say. I hope there real world testing is being done someplace real secret & that is the only reason why nobody has been able to capture it on film. What do you guys think???

Infiniti has always been this way. Before the new G sedan came out we knew absolutely NOTHING until the unveiling at the New York Auto Show. I suspect the same thing will happen with the new G Coupe, redesigned FX, and possible all new Q. I've gotten used to listening to rumors that end up being way off because no one outside of Nissan seems to really have any concrete info on new models.

Yeah.. I agree.
I just don't understand their thinking though.

You would think that a few well timed *leaks* would make for GREAT marketing

I agree it's disappointing and doesn't do anything to build pre launch awareness and publicity.

Exactly. If you want a loyal following, build great all-around cars...period. People will pay for a good product. Then if you want to keep loyal consumers, throw them a bone to chew on every once in awhile. Get people excited about upcoming products. You've see the stir the new G sedan caused (very late, imo due to absence of specs and pricing). I think the lack of information or hype really hurts Infiniti. I know more than several people who just couldn't wait until the last minute to get inside info. and went to the competition as a result. Infiniti is getting better with their products, they just need to market with more smarts.

I havent been on the forums in a while, congrats on the new car inTgr8r, my friend's bro wants to get one too. He said the M roadster feels like a supercar, with a roadster body. Sounds pretty sick, I think. Not a bad choice!
