It's possible Infiniti is going to follow BMW's product schedules..... introduce a new model one year, and then follow up with a new engine the following year. If that's the case, then Infiniti might roll out a G35 Coupe with a VQ35HR motor, and then follow up with a 3.7L model in 2008 (2009 model year).

BMW and Mercedes have been using this formula quite sucessfully in the past few decades.

Good plan. You need a shovel to get through some of the stuff on here.

A large front end loader would be nice too.

I have read that the '08 G-Coupe is getting the 3.7HR engine from the GT-R, without the turbos. Makes since, they would want to try the new engine in the G before they put it in the GT-R. The NYIAS is taking forever, can't wait until April, then we will finally know.

I'm inclined to think that the new G is going to be every bit as good as we hope it is. Because I recently read an article on Autoblog that talked about the weak Yen and basically how that means that the u.s. dollar goes a lot farther in Japan than it does in say... Germany... where the dollar is weak ccompared to the Euro. So... Nissan can produce a car that is close to being on par with a 335 and sell it in the U.S. for about ~$6-8,000 less.

I guess with a 0-60 thread it's to be expected.

In the new issue of motor trend magazine it states that "unlike the sedan the coupe will be get an enlarged 3.7L version of the sedans 3.5 liter engine. We expect the larger v6 to make at least 320hp." Interms of o-60 times.....i don't understand why it couldn't be a sub 5 sec car like the 335coupe. That car weighs 3600 lbs and has an understated 300hp.

i honestly think that nissan should still continue to use g35 because they need to further develop the G35 heritage, and changing it every few years would definitely not help their case.
