2008 coupe in 0-60 5 flat 330hp g37 wow
i dunno, BMW has been adding and removing from their numbering system for some time. Although, admittedly, on a much more infrequent basis. ex: 318, 325, 328, 330, 335... no to mention the i, the is, the xi, etc. And that's just the 3 series. Also note mercedes' number system, and a number of other companies.
The only detriment I see is if they drop the "G" and the "M" and start going back and forth from names and letters and numbers frequently like lincoln and pontiac.

I really hope it's a 3.7 liter in the 2008 G. I'm in the market for a new car and it's between the 335 and the new G coupe. I test drove the 335 today but I won't post my opinions here (wrong forum).
Where have they stated 2 years until the 3.7 liter?

I used to drive an e36 M3, so I know where you're coming from.
To be really competitive the "G" coupe is going to have to be in the 4's....not
5's...... I hope these guys suprise everyone and get it to at least 4.8 to 4.5....
(Make the car lighter....and stronger...)
It will drive the Car magazines crazy...and all the folks that have calling for a
truly supercar performance Infiniti will just be in Car Heaven.....

I do believe that a G coupe that hits 5 seconds flat is not out of the question. Do expect weight to be around 3,500 pounds. At least I'd be shocked if it less.
3.7 is confirmed
I've confirmed that the 08 G will have 3.7 liter engine and will produce ABOUT 330hp. This info is from my very good friend that actually SAW the car in Japan.
If you wanna believe it, fine. I you don't want to believe it, that's fine too. Just sharing what I talked with my friend last week.

He also told me that the prduction car he saw was very similar to the one at the show last year, but no 20 inch rims. He said it was 19 in. instead. Interior is totally different though.
Also, GTR will be released from Nissan channel and will be priced in Japan for 660,000 Yen, which is couple grand below 60K. He was not sure about the pricing in the states though.
