Maybe if infiniti didnt release pictures of concept, i would be less disappointed.

What I wanted:
- concept looks (as they promised it was close to production)
- same, or preferably less weight (ala TT's new aluminum bits)
- noticeable tq increase to deal with the weight
- revised (smoother) 6MT
- mod-friendly engine
What it looks like it will be:
- soft/bland/almost boring looks
- expected 100# weight increase (as per Edmunds)
- minimal tq increase (though expected smoother power curve)
- same 6MT
- higher compression and VVEL to give tuners a headache
In short, they got nothing right in my book except the interior. Yes, the 330hp is nice, but I rarely get up to those RPMs to take advantage of it, and it diminishes daily driving feel IMHO.
I have been waiting for a very long time for this car, and I feel very let down so far.
Also, since they are very tight-lipped about the price, I am now expecting a sizable increase (not a minimal one like the sedan). And that would make it worse.
I do like the interior though. Which, is ironically, the main thing I didn't like about the old coupe. I will still test drive it when it comes out, but if I find something I like beforehand (been waiting for two years to find the "right" car), I probably will not wait just for the new coupe.

I agree. This car is just too soft, as if they were really trying to widen its appeal to female consumers. I was already planning to keep my 04 coupe for a long time, but this new version gives me little reason to run like a kid to the dealership to see the new car.....Originally Posted by twofst4u

Thumbs down from me. This will no longer be the best looking car in the segment IMO. If only they had kept the front end of the concept...

Maybe infiniti will surprised buttsecks everyone and make the car look like the concept when it hits the dealership?? :P

The new car is not near aggresive looking enough for me. After pushing it on the track a few times, I realize that our cars do not look as cool as they really are. I'd like the paddle shifters on my '04 though.
