Thumbs up I changed my mind, I really like the new G37.

I've been following the development of the G Coupe since January 2002 when the first gen was first announced. I bought my G Coupe in November of 2002 and had been loving it ever since. My wife bought a 05 G sedan to match my coupe in the garage. It's been good, but now we are looking to get some new cars and perhaps get a business vehicle for the family.

I've been a mild critic of the new G37 coupe design particularly the 'differences' between this and the G Coupe Concept shown in January of this year. The G37 design is definitely growing on me especially now that the front bumper is no longer an issue. (Non-sport ) The rear chrome spoiler and tail lamps are stick on the tacky side but I am sure people will get used to them just like the first gen coupe's broad side profile and huge butt design.

I went to the BMW dealership yesterday checking out the new 3 series coupe and convertible. While the 328i hardtop convertible sound very good for California summer this year, the overall design for the 3 series looks boring, old and dated compared to the Infiniti G's. The body gaps on the BMWs are terrible from hood to the trunk. External fit and finish on the BMW 3 seems sumpar compared to the Japanese. I don't see myself trading for a BMW anytime soon, but the new G's certainly has my attention. I keep wishing Infiniti would make a convertible G Coupe, I suppose we'll see what happens.

The EX Concept also looks killer. We might end up buying one near Christmas time for our business and try to work out a deal to get a new G sedan or G37 around that time, too.

Bravo Infiniti You got my vote!

Yeah, I'm coming in from the cold. Looking at the sport bumper on the sedan, it's looking kinda cool.

I hated it at first, but the whole car is growing on me.

I'm warming up to the new design as well.

What helps is that there are a few new 07 Sedans in the parking lot at work. Knowing that the new coupe borrows many design cues from the sedan, I look at these cars in the parking lot and mentally envision the coupe.....especially when looking at the sedans from the front. Eventhough I love the look of my 1st gen coupe, I am starting to like the new design.....

The first pics released (dirty silver test mule) weren't so hot. But I have been planning to buy a G37 since before those came out, moslty because of the performance advancements. The vibrant red pics look really good. I can't wait to see some black pics bc that's how I ordered mine! This wait is gonna be long though.

A dealer here in NJ told me that a retractable hardtop G37 would be coming out in 2009. Although I'm skeptical, he said it with confidence several times. We'll see what happens, but I would love to have a hardtop convertible G.

I find it funny, the non-sport bumper looks so much sportier and makes the car look much better from the front.
