From what I have read, almost all test models at the dealerships are fully loaded Journey models (i.e., auto only).

 

Its a shame because this is a damn sports coupe, its not the Sedan. I think the ratio of 6MT's should be equal to the Auto's....unfortunately, more and more people are opting for Auto's simply because they dont know how to drive a manual nor are they willing to learn. This country sucks. Go to europe, like 75% of cars are MT's....

 

I never saw one single automatic when I was in Europe last year for two weeks.....not one. I loved it.

 

Auto's are for soccer moms.....that's for damn sure. I actually met people in Europe who would literally look at an auto, and swear they couldn't drive it.....like people who can only drive autos act towards sticks in the states

 

It's easy for you guys to say. My parents wont allow me to get 6MT... I'm not crying though because I'm getting the car that I want anyways.

 

I agree. It's amazing how many people are unwilling to learn a manual transmission. It really isn't that hard. In fact, I learned how to drive using a manual trans because, in my mind, if I were ever in a situation where driving a manual was my only option, I would know how to. Plus, driving a manual sports coupe/sedan is some of the best fun you can have, period.
There isn't anything like setting up for your favorite turn, downshifting, and then punching it through the turn. That said, a manual can be a pain in the a** when in traffic. If you live anywhere where traffic sucks all of the time, then the auto may be the right choice. Luckily I live in a part of the country, where at times, I rarely see another car. When I'm not driving the FX, my '94 stang (180,000 miles and still kicking ) is damn fun to toss around.

I can only imagine the G coupes and sedans are just a dream to drive via the MT. After all my bs-ing...go out and get the car you want regardless of tranny and have fun.

 

That's the beauty of buying anything with your own money. Nobody can say what you can or cannot get.

With the possible exception of your wife. With that said, she got the Acura MDX, I get the g37 6MT. I sold the Z to buy the MDX a year ago. Haven't had a good corner since.

The new g37 sport 6MT is what I wanted the Z to be. Now I can have it, sometime in early september, I have the VIN already. Sweet sweet VIN.

 

N50 is right tho driving stick is the best but also hes right about if you live in a area that theres always traffic then your better off with a auto....which like me i live in that type of area...my old whip was stick so i switch to auto....i miss tha feeling of driving stick but i cant stand it in traffic...so im gonna get my G37 in a sport model but auto...

 

My current car is a 6MT 350Z, which I love driving. The G37S I test drove the other day was a 5AT, which was the first time I've ever driven a car with paddle shifters. While it was fun, it still wasn't anywhere near as enjoyable as driving a true 6MT. I loved the G37, but just prefer 6MT. Flicking the paddles just isn't as fun as clutch/stick. I can understand people that drive in a lot of traffic opting for the 5AT though. My commute isn't that bad.

 

It's not how hard to drive a manual. It's how hard a manual and clutch can be on your knees after awhile in stop and go traffics.

 

This is very true. It's hard on your knees when you aren't in stop and go traffic. However, there are still people out there who don't know how to drive manuals and refuse to...and that's okay. Luckily for them, the market has accommodated them beautifully

 

If I lived in a densely populated area like LA, I think I would opt out for an AT as well. I was down in Socal for the weekend a few weeks ago and the traffic was horrible. We were stuck in bumper to bumper traffic for about 2 hours...on the WEEKEND Thank God I wasn't driving.
