Look at the shaded parts on this picture, you can already see it is very dark and the whole car in general is a darker violet/purple color:
You are kidding yourself if you think Amethyst shows even the slightest hint of purple in anything but the strongest sunlight, and that purple is always a light purple. The car in the shade is a Platinum Graphite color with no signs of purple at all unlike the car in G35Chick's pictures. This is expected as the full name of the color is Amethyst GRAPHITE (ie. dark grey), not Amethyst Purple. You can even tell from the shots I posted before that the Amethyst is much lighter than the car in her pictures.
Yes these are all Amethyst, notice the complete lack of any violet color? at least you should be able to admit that. If the car in GChick35's pics was Amethyst, the car would be dark grey in the shade, which it quite obviously is not. The car is Blue Slate, or maybe you're right and grey for some reason can look dark purple

At least Sweeet P was somewhat close in that Amethyst has some purple in it, Athens blue is a pure blue no purple.

No the car is definitely Maroon with shades of orange...
You can't be serious!
Under high sun exposure colors can fade a great deal when photographed.
Note the very high brightness (white hue) in the picture and then apply this value to any dark color, it could result in a much lighter tone. Athens is a different shade of blue, No shade of grey have a blue tone unless they used a blue filter on the camera.

Uhh.....the complete lack of any violet is due to the fact that the color of the car is Platinum Graphite and has no violet at all.

And....as far as the Athens Blue argument...no.
The car in this pic, to me, looks like GChick35's pic. Can not be Athens Blue. You know how I know....there's a Athens Blue right next to it! And please don't say..."Well...the sunlight does not hit both cars evenly."
Of course...ORBIE is gonna say that the car is Blue Slate...even though the car is the pic is lighter than the Athens Blue one.

Blue slate is one of those colours which looks different all the time due to different conditions.
For example on a dark day (cloudy) the Grey shows more and on a bright day, the blue shows more.
But Athens Blue is easily noticeable from the other colours
