I personally like the pronounced grill but I still think the fake plastic grills on the bottom are hokie. I'm hoping someone is already making a set to fill these holes.

Well... I just like to respond, but I do see your points. I never knew you had a son! It's a respectable thing to try prevent your son from seeing those kinds of comments. At least those kinds of posts are as prevalent today as they were before where I was like the only one defending the G37 and when the G37 forum actually splits, that's going to really make my day because those kind of people don't have to deal with a forum they don't like. Now if they actually go there, that would really puzzle me and give me a lot of answers.

But really... I have learned to not take those kinds of comments respectfully and seriously as they weren't respectful, but maybe serious, in the first place.

How is this a good grill?

Don't get me wrong fellas. I like G37. It's a great car. Way better then competition.

But look at older design and the new sedans design.

They could have done lots better job on the coups grille.

It's all subjective. I think it's a great grill. I can't see where you're coming from.

I agree. I got my first look in person yesterday, and the car is beautiful.

Since I started this, and having a close look Joker's post with the grill, I think what bothers me the most are the uppermost and lowermost horizontal chrome pieces (they are also slightly wider than the other slats). Those pieces sort of say "look at me, I'm a grill".

Hmmm... I guess I'm just seeing the grill very differently from your perspective because I just see it as a nice grill... that's it hehe, but hey... life is all about interpretation. I respect your opinions and your input on the grill. At least you weren't like "That grill sucks ***!" because that's very disrespectful and I know that if the creator(s) of the grill were present... people may think before they post. I feel that the car is like a piece of art... the artists have worked on it for so long and I'm sure it has gone through many ideas and suggestions. I find it very impudent for people to make posts that have the same attitude as "Your art sucks major baaaaallzzzzzz" and such. People have worked so hard on creating this "work of art" and I know that I've grown up in a family where giving respect is very serious. Constructive criticism is different than just plain out criticism.

I give my props to Infiniti for creating such a beautiful work of art both inside and out. Sure there is something that I wish was different, which is more headroom in the back for my friends, but other than that... I'm very pleased and grateful for what they have done for us.

I feel that for the people who just flat out don't like it... if you don't like the art piece that you're looking at in a museum, go and look at an art piece that you like. Why stand in front of the art piece that you don't like and just talk **** about it when you can go to one that you like and admire that? Some people are just disrespectful in nature and like giving criticism (not constructive criticism). I don't understand the logic going inside those people's minds. "Hmm... should I... 1) look at something and just whine about the problems.... or 2) look at something I do like and admire it for what has been accomplished." Sadly too many people choose #1 and I don't understand why.

Give respect, receive respect. Give disrespect, receive a smack in the face.

I'm very happy with the direction that this G37 forum has gone to. If this forum was the same way as lets say... in May/June... then I would've gone crazy. lol I'm glad to have seen a positive progress and soon see it as the 2007 G35 sedan forums are today where the only complaints are from actual owners. Now that's understandable.

Anyways... please pardon my tangent there.

I guess the thing that got me started about the grill was the G35 to G37 side-by-side comparison front photo posted elsewhere https://g35driver.com/forums/attachm...1&d=1187115482

The G35 grill seem much more subtle and, I think, it basically comes down to the wide chrome pieces at the top and bottom of the G37 grill--it just shouts too much.

But this is quite subjective so I am sure that there are just as many who feel the exact opposite.

Also, as posted elsewhere, after seeing the car in person at a preview last week, I love the rear (it never bothered me at all even in the early pics) and the side view. The 3/4 view from the front also looks okay. But too me, the front seems to snub-nosed or stubby and the straight-on front view is my least favorite. Again, just my opinion and don't mean to offend anyone.

for me it is the double bar (the first and last chrome pieces above and below the grill) that make the grill look odd.

Ahhh... I see what you mean by that picture. Yeah the G35 grill is much more subtle and the G37 grill is more prominent. I personally feel that the G35 grill is missing some kind of "outline" to it... if you understand what I mean. Seems like something is lacking. Thank you very much for your inputs though! I never thought of those points.
