Grill gripes

How do you guys (gals) feel about the grill. For some reason, it looks "clumsier" than what was on the G35, mostly due to "taller height" and the brighter horizontal bands at the very top and bottom. In my opinion, it would have looked better to just have the open cavity with just the Infiniti logo (like some of the Mercedes have been doing with just having the star without all the other fuss).

Does anyone else agree or am I nuts?

I personally don't see anything wrong with the grille, although I haven't seen it in person yet. The thing that I am anxious to see is the durability of the G37 grille. The 07 Sedan grille has had problems with pitting and lots of members have had to have it replaced under warranty. I hope the G37 grille doesn't suffer from this same issue.

Yeah, I hope that they fixed that problem on the G37 grill.

+1 hehe. I don't really look at grills on cars all that much though.

To me it still looks like too many horizontal lines too closely spaced. If I were good at photoshop, I would try to see what the grill looks like eliminating some/all of the horizontal slats. Any photoshop experts out there interested or willing to give it a try just to see how it would look?

while at the event, i spent some time looking at the grill. aesthetically, it's just fine. but the quality of material seems to mimic that of the sedan. i forsee problems.

on a similar note, did anyone open the gas lid? it seems it's made of the softest, most pliable plastic around. i know not all cars have a sheet metal lid, but most are made of an extremely durable plastic. the new g's just felt very cheap.

Now that's being extremely picky. No one is going to be looking at the gas lid. lol

I'll just assume your name underlies the true meaning of that message.

that's exactly what i was alluding to!

i will say that i'm extremely impressed with the sound system and the unbelievable implementation of the ipod/iphone connectivity. it's flawless and touchscreen capable. amazingly, i actually felt a slight rattle in my butt from a good Tool song. might add one of those Infinity Basslinks for good measure to keep some useful space in the trunk.
