High Flow Cats, opposed to OEM for tuning puposes
I
have been thinking very seriously on installing a set of BERK HFC's and do away with the OEM's. I would be interested to know what you G lovers have to say on the subject. Is the replacement worth the change? I already have a custom true dual exhaust system installed from the CAT back. I have kept the OEM split pipe coming off the CATs, from there, they go into a Maganaflow X-pipe and dual 2.25 inch straight piped / no resonators restricting the flow into a 2 in and 2 out Stainless Magnaflow performance exhaust muffler with custom tips. It breaths great! and has a good throaty tone to boot. It turns heads when i go from manual - auto 2nd, running it up to 5800 rpms and pushing it into 3rd, damn it sounds good. Oh well enough of that. I was entertaining an Osiris tune and was thinking this is the last step to getting as much rwhp out of my machine until Supercharging, or turbo charging. With that being said, either of those takes plenty of green backs. In closing, do you think i would do the process justice by spend the money on the HFC's,or spend my money elsewhere. Take to mind I have the Stillen cold air induction system, with Z - tube , OBX throddle body spacer, Skunk II 7/8 inch intake spacer, and every electrical add, including Z 4 laser jammer, yes it works!! and the Beltronics / nondectectable radar detector.

If you really want it then go for the HFC. Those really add power and when you tune the car it makes a huge difference. If i didn't live in Cali, i would have added it to my car.
The Berk HFC's are definitely worth it, i have them on my car as well as an UpRev Osiris tune, they make a huge difference in power and sound. I'm running the Greddy EVO TT exhaust and the cats actually managed to deepen my exhaust note even further.
Also, if you decide to go FI at some point, the HFC's will allow you to get more power out of the system

I had berks and they were great, but nothing.... NOTHING compared to my ART pipes.
No rasp and power difference you can feel. They are amazing, I would just save up a few bucks and get those. Guy on a local forum is selling his.

HFC's
I live in Georgia, and have the state inspection thing also. what ever i do to the machine i want it to be able to pass emissions. I went up to where i get my yearly on the G35, and other cars i have and asked him about the visiaul aspect of the high flow CATs, not having numbers and all, he said as long as the check engine light doesn't come on, he said no worries. That is what they are looking for, not necessarly check engine light on the dash, but on the tester? Why can't you slip a set on your machine?
D---173, HFC's? ART pipes / straight pipe?
i need a little schooling. Are the ART pipes, HFC's or just straight piped?

Put HFC on one side, and OEM on the other. Then stick your nose in each pipe and smell which side is pushing more HP.
With that said. HFC's will provide better gains.
