I would have to see it in person, however from the pictures I do not mind the rear at all. I would be more than happy to have one in my driveway right now!
I want the 'it' car, cause it's hip to be 'G'.

But when this new coupe comes out, it will be 'the best car' on the road.
If I held on to my current car, I think I would feel old, out-dated, and definitly not the 'it car'.
I want to be the 'it' car once again. And with this new G, it will be a done deal.

This is the only flaw I find w/the new coupe concept also. Way too much like the Solara and the G6. If they just kept it from shrinking inwards like that, this concept would be perfect!
Did anyone else notice the complete and utter absence of a cutline in the rear quarter? There's no plastic, or there's all plastic, but the bumper is not cut. This will surely not be production. Too expensive to build, too expensive to repair (I think?)
While the 7 was the worst execution of the side (vice top) trunk cutline, the 5 was horrible too, and the 6 was better, I actually think that Infiniti really got this cutline right. Somhow it doesn't neuter the car's aggressive looks. I can see validity to a previous poster's J trunk comments, with the prime difference being muscularity. I think the CC has it, where the old J was almost Jag feline.
What I find most surprising is, upon close inspection, how much of the current car can be seen in the concept. I like the symmetry between the L-shaped headlights and taillights. The only questionables are the cut-ins on the side and the Japan-swoopy front clip. Euros would never "batmobile" the front end like that; Lexus would, but I'm hoping Infiniti doesn't stoop to their level. My hope is that these bits get toned down a bit. As for the interior- bravo. While I'm sure production will tone down the interior as well, I'm hoping they retain the overall theme. It's darned good. If they can deliver something weighing in around 3400 or less, I'll be even happier to jump in for a third time.

WOW i hate the rear lights too!! it looks like they start off from the middle as G35 tail lights, then they add some 05 maxima tail lights.... i think the car is HAWT SHET, but they need to put the old g35 tail lights on there!
the front of the new G is outstanding
the back needs a lot of work.
based on this, overall i dont think the new G will look as good relative to other cars as the current G. the current G took from no cars on the road. if you see this from behind, its a pontiac.
