Question 2009 G37 sedan front crossmember/subframe cracked

On my 2009 g37 sedan I have been hearing noise on my steering rack below on my crossmember went under the car and found out my crossmember is crack that holds the steering rack in place.

I was wondering if anyone know how to remove the crossmember and the basic steps on how to swap it out or any diagrams they can show me on how to do this thanks.

isn't your G still under warranty? If so you can just take it to the dealers and make them deal w/ it. Less work for you.

Only problem is when they see any kind of impact damage that caused that crack, then it's not going to be pretty cause he would have to pay for it.

Still wouldn't hurt to ask. If there's no obvious impact, they would need to replace it.

Hate to say it, but the subframe is a structural member that is overbuilt by design. It won't crack by itself. A factory tech would look for an easily found lateral load that caused the damage and disallow the warranty on that basis.

The OP hasn't responded to this thread in a few months, I suspect he already knows this...

I'd just weld it-can probably be done on the car!
