2013 G Sedan

O.k. I know I'm pretty early but I'm G-less right now and fully anticipating the next gen G sedan. I haven't been on the forum for a minute, so I may have missed past discussions but is the G sedan sport no longer offered in an automatic? I plan to get the next generation G sedan sport in an automatic if offered. If not, I need to start setting my eyes on another car, I don't want to shift anymore.

I am pretty sure you can still get it in automatic.

Unless its a track-ready car or a track package car it will be available in automatic

Well why does the Infiniti website show the 2012 G Sedan Sport in only a 6-speed manual?

The 6MT includes the Sport Package, Nav. & Premium as standard. If you want an Auto "S", you get the Journey and add the Sport Package.

Basically the 6MT comes loaded, the Auto can be configured with various packages including the "S" which has the bbk, suspension, seats, etc.

If the 2013/14 comes with an entirely new engine/trans/driveline, I'd wait a few model years until the bugs are worked out.

I've been burned twice now on buying first model year vehicles and dealing with their minor/major issues.

Totally get that I know Nissan spent about 10k in warranty parts for my G. But I usually dump mine just before 70k so nothing but maitenance schedules out of my pocker. My hopes aren't set on a new drivetrain or engine, just a lil more hp and a new look and I'm totally down with it. Hope to have one as soon as it is available!!!

Looking like it is going to be another year and half though!!!

bailey how do you know its going to be a year and a half? I really need to know if that's true. If it is i can live a new G now. I also heard from a dealship in NJ that it would be more than a year. Than today i was at Kings Infinity in brooklyn and they told me 2013 will be the next generation and it will be out around october/novermber. If that's true i dont' want to start a new lease now and have everyone driving a new design within 7 months. Any help would be appreciated.

I don't know, pure speculation and dealer estimate.

Getting info from a dealer about unannounced models is like taking financial advice from Greece. They have no clue what they're talking about. Until Infiniti releases a statement or something giving firm dates and changes, the dealers, like the rest of us, have no clue.

What happened to the G Bailey, why did you decide to sell? What's the 'female driven' ride now?

Hey Lakeshore_Slate. Long time no hear from!!! I have been G-less since last April. At 69,901miles I traded it in. (1) the idle/rpm drop deal was becoming soooo bothersome and was idling so low then cutting off completely daily. It was sooo annoying and embarassing LOL. The dealer I swear was replacing everything under the sun and warranty was almost out. After them going back and forth with the tech line, the dealer finaly figured it was a $2k cam timing sensor something or another (there is finally a tsb out on it). They had agreed to pay for the parts and labor but I was ready to give it up by then. (2) I still had the transmission shudder and after having them replace the valve body (3) times I was more than happy to let the G be someone else's headach. My mom retired and as a retirement gift I traded it for a new 2011 Honda Accord. I took her 2000 Honda Accord pristine but OMG slow as maple syrup LOL. But great on gas so I can't complain. I toyed with getting a 370Z for a minute but after driving one for a day I passed. So I'm now patiently waiting on the new G. I'm in no hurry been saving my money and enjoying no car payments. If the G is as sexy as the current, I'm definitely all over the new one whenever that will be. There is nothing in the $40-$42k range that I'm excited about right now so I hope the new G hits the spot
