Arrow Picked up a 2011 G25X for the Wife

Wife totaled her B15 Sentra yesterday morning, so we picked up a 2011 G25X for her. We had to buy something same-day and I wanted AWD, and this was the best deal I could find, lol. I'd prefer the G37X of course, but we just couldn't afford it. Has 84k on it and drives well (other than being a little underpowered), but I am now back in the V chassis game since selling my 07 G35 Coupe, ha ha.

Underpowered for sure. Had one as a loaner and it made me crazy...felt that need to ootch my butt forward time and again in the seat to help urge it to giddyapp.

I didn't think it was that bad, lol. It feels like a normal family sedan to me, which is why we bought it.

LOL Sure, when you compare it to a family sedan...but I have a G35, and it was painful to have everything look like it should go...but then it doesn't :-)

Ha ha. It's just a normal sedan to me, if I want to go fast, I have other cars for that

Doesn't mean I won't eventually make it look and sound a little better. But I'm not trying to win any drag races with it by any means (and I wouldn't, ha ha).

Awd makes up for lack of power. Nice pick up!

Funny.... I just did the same thing for my wife. It was so painfully underpowered compared to my g35 I had to add an intake

I wanna drive one of these just to see the power difference. What kind of mpg does it get. I feel like I'd like one of these for a DD. They'll probably be cheap af soon cuz of the short run/lack of demand too. I think I'll try one out soon.

If you could elaborate on the whole feeling/experience of the car (basically give a full review) that'd be cool. Car looks good tho.

Nice looking car!

The only reason why i would never consider this car myself isn't exactly due to the lack of power. But the differnece in MPG from a 25 and 35.

I have no problem giving up power for MPG in a normal DD but a lot real world reviews show that the G25 barely gets more MPG then G35. So you get a slower car but you are not reaping the MPG benefits. This most likely doe the AWD,weight and bad gearing.

It is a sharp car and HOPEFULLY its reliable. We know what a VQ35 can do, just not what a VQ25 can. Now if it was a DET motor that overseas got, hell yea get smaller motor.

At the end of the day, WIFE is happy who cares about anything else.

Ha ha, she wants to add a catback to it, but mainly for the sound. She feels it's plenty fast enough for her. It's slow by my standards for sure, but it's not that bad.

I don't have the time for a full review, ha ha, but I can say that other than the underpowered engine, it's a very nice car. Super comfortable, drives great, perfect for a DD. If you are used to a larger displacement G, it will definitely feel slow, but it's faster than a general Sentra or other car like that. The MPG is mid 20's mostly, my wife does lots of traffic and in-town, with a little bit of freeway. We haven't taken it on a trip as of yet, so no data there, but I'd guess probably 27-28mpg or so. I'll definitely post it up when we do.

Yeah, the AWD definitely saps the MPG, but it's still better than my old '07 sport coupe G35 (barely). We get monsoon rain/flash floods where we now live, so I wanted her to have AWD just in case.

I'm pretty sure Stillen makes an exhaust that fits. It's advertised as the AWD V36 catback for the G35 and G37. Can't see why it won't fit the G25 either.

Any luck on the upgrades? I'm still trying to decide on an exhaust for mine. She still wants it to sound "angry" like my G37

We haven't done anything yet, lol. She keeps putting them off, but she isn't as "into" cars as I, so I'm not sure when she will want to do them, ha ha! Car still runs fantastic though!
