Sunroof stuck open
Sunroof stuck open
2010 G37 - turned car on, opened sunroof all the way (not tilted), tried to close it, but it will not move at all. Motor makes no noise at all. I did check the screws, and they are fine. Any ideas?
First try holding the CLOSED (also tilts to moonroof when it's closed) switch down for like 60 seconds. After about 20 seconds it will force the sunroof to recalibrate itself so it SHOULD open/close, then tilt up and down, then stop after it stops you release the switch. If it does, then hold the closed switch down a second time, this time it will tilt up, tilt down, open, close, then stop, and release the switch. It's now recalibrated.
If it won't go into the auto recalibration mode it either blew a fuse, or the sunroof motor failed, or the switch failed.
