Rear view mirror rattle

Anyone who has opened the rear view mirror by any chance?

I can't seem to be able to open the damn thing so i can dampen it with something.

It's just a snap seal. Stick a thin flat head screw driver in between the seam. You'll need to do it in several locations. Also, be careful cause the screw driver will mark the delicate plastic. I just put a dab of silicone sealant on anything that might rub. Also ran it all alone the seam and them wiped the excess when the two halves were rejoined.

My mirror rattle was because the screw that attaches the mirror to the windshield bracket was not tight. A few days after snuging the screw up nice the bracket came off the windshield. Once I glued the bracket back on and tightened up the screw not quite so tight it has been good.

I had a rattle problem and thought it was my mirror but it turned out it was my sunglasses rattling from the subwoofer haha.
