Trunk opens with key fob but not with button inside car

I have an 05 coupe and this morning I noticed that the trunk will not open with the button to the left of the stearing wheel. I then hit my key fob open button and it worked. I have read the thread about other problems people have had with there trunk not opening but it seems like there problem was that it wouldn't open at all with both the button and the key fob.

What could the reason be for this not working with the button in the car? I checked the wires running to the trunk and there are none cut. Could this be a fuse? It isn't the harness right? Because if it was it wouldn't open at all right? I'm going to check the fuses tonight when I get home from work but just wanted to get some suggestions as to why one would work and one wouldn't.

Thanks guys.

Mine does the same thing sometimes. I find if I turn ignition on it seems to reset and work. I can't help with why.

sounds like the switch in the glove box might have gone bad.

I have it held together with electrical for meantime but it works.

Open your glove box and look to left corener inside. It's dark in there so you may want to use a flashlight.

And, there's a red nylon strap between the back seats if you dig down in there... if you pull it you can get the seats down from inside the car!

(sorta on-topic of things most people don't know )

Yeah that red strap really has come in handy multiple times. It is weird how no-one really knows about it being there, stuff is hidden all over this car...
