Got a 04 coupe and for the past couple of months havn't been able to complety fill the tank with the gas light on it took 12 gallons and the fuel gauge read just under full, there have been times where took 14 gallons just under 1/4 of a tank but still cars reads just under full, the gas pump shuts off and thinking it was due to gas somehow not going down fast enough and causeing the pump to think it was full i i slowly filled the tank, till it was almost coming out. Now i see the G has 18 gallon tank and have never put more then 16 in even when the light is on can someone explain to me what is going on

Sounds like the fuel sender needs to be replaced. And yes there is a TSB for this.

I had my '03 G35 coup serviced at the dealer for AC Compressor issue a couple of months ago. Took it home tried filling the tank and fuel pump kept shutting off. Thought it was just tank was near empty so nursed the tank full. I've been baby feeding the tank ever since. My mistake was not taking it back to the dealer but as I said its been a couple of month, so don't want to go to jail for choking the as(^*&^% when he tells me it wasn't them. (cause it might not have been them...)

Seems Like the tank is not vented and air pressure backs up the fill nozzle. IS there a TSB for this? looked in the service manual for something no help! the original Post seems to have a similar problem but my fuel guages are working fine. only problem is during refueling
