those hand pumps are like $5 so i guess you can buy as many as your want. normally on SUV you dont need pumps but on our cars you somewhat have to. I think the rear diff wouldn't need a pump but i haven't done it.

i'm still looking for redline fluids...
Yeah you deff need pump on rear diff

You can use either the one that is posted above or the one that goes straight into the bottle

I prefer this one cuz it also acts as a cap for a bottle and that way you have a less chance of spilling your oil.

I honestly don't know but I highly doubt it.

On here it says that Matic J is being replaced by Matic S

http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=3912

But I dunno about the mixture.

Here some more on both fluids

Re: J Matic fluid now supercedes to S Matic fluid
I asked over on MT and Jeff, a Nissan Service and Parts Manager responded with the below quote from the Nissan Chemical website. He also said, it's fully compatible with Matic -J. Unfortunately, there isn't any information available on the differences if any between the two. Hopefully, someone can dig something up or do a UOA to compare.

"(12/CS) NIS ATF MATIC-S 999MP-MTS00P
Matic S ATF supercedes Matic J ATF, and Dealers should use Matic S ATF for any application requiring Matic S or Matic J ATF. Dealers may use any remaining Matic J inventory where Matic J was specified - ref NTB/08-049a & ITB/08-022a. [MSDS] As per Nissan Chemical website."

That looks like a nice pump. I used this cheap one. The jacks in the middle are just there for extra little support. I just throw all sorts of things under the car to be safe.

if anyone still cares about the math:
to keep it simple lets say 12q total and replacing 4 each time. So you have 2/3 old each time. after each successive change you have 8*(2/3)^n, where n is the number of replacements of 4 qts, ignoring the age of the old 'new' oil. i.e. say you did the changes in succession over a few days with some driving in between. If you did 4 changes (16 quarts total) you'd end up with 1.58 quarts of old stuff running around. Do a fifth one and you have 1.05q of old stuff. Just use a case (3 changes) and end up with 2.37 q of old.
Whatever your time and desire to be a purist dictate...
Amazon has a case of 12 quarts of valvoline maxlife for $63. I don't know what the dealer charge is.
You'd probably be fine with periodic replacements of the 4 qts.
