I have some squeaks, anyone have the same ones?
So I have two squeaks that I'd love to fix but I'm not quite sure what they are, and the dealer was no help when I last brought it in and informed them about such, but maybe if I know what is causing the squeak and it's malfunctioning, I can have them fix it. So there are 2 squeaks/creaks
1st: A very repetitive, audible squeak (similar to a bird chirp) is coming from my passenger side air vent/glove box/nav disk assembly. It usually occurs more when it's warm outside and when I am driving over bumps, but sometimes even when I'm idling it will squeak. I've tried taking the nav disk out and checked for squeaky items in the glove box but no luck. I took it to the dealer and they supposedly "greased" the air vent assembly that goes up and down and side to side, but the squeak is still there
2nd: There is a creak/squeak from my front driver's side wheel. It usually happens when it's cold and on startup when I go over bumps. It is hard to describe as it isn't too loud, but I can definitely hear it. Could this be a bad shock? It sounds like I'm driving a 1980 Toyota or something, and it's quite embarrassing.
Has anyone experienced either of these two squeaks, or possible answers to my problems? It's driving me nuts! Thanks for all, if any advice

Yeah it's probably going to be your compression rods also. I don't know if you have warranty or what, but it was covered by my aftermarket extended warranty but not completely. I also had to pay and extra $132.00 aside from the $100.00 deduction because of the total pricing going over the extended warranty price quote. Lame but better than paying total repair. I would have been ok if the repair shop hadn't of gotten the parts from the local Infiniti dealership. The compression rods were $510.00 at the dealership and I found the parts on www.infinitipartsusa.com for $342.00 including shipping. Atleast I got a 12mnth/12,000mile warranty on the parts though, which I was told was a good thing.
Don't know but I wouldn't mention it to them. Sometimes some aftermarket products will kill your warranty. Have you taken your car to get checked on, to see what they tell you your problem is? When the shop calls the warranty company to file the repair I don't know if they'll ask about aftermarket products on your car or if the shop will mention anything about it. Give it a try.
I know this thread is old, but I searched for ever for the cause of a squeek identical to the OP's #1 squeek. It turned out to be..... THE BATTERY CLAMP! The noise transmits through the cold air opening behind the battery that leads to the vent at the base of the windshield. Who woulda thought.

I have to say that I love you pedal. How would I go about fixing it? I did take the batteryout to replace a fuse. Did I not tighten it enough?? More info!!!
The reason it took me so long to find it was that it would only squeak while driving. I took apart the dash to remove the radio then drove around etc but no luck. It was only after months of this that it started to chirp when idling at a stop. I got out of the car and listened under the hood. It was obvious it was coming from the battery compartment. I had installed the clamp soon after I bought the car (used) as it was just laying in the compartment with the battery loose. I guess the previous owner couldn't hook up the back bolt so just left it off. I placed some 1/16" thick rubber between the battery and the clamp and greased the hooked ends of the tie down bolts and tightened it up. Killed that chirping bird!
